European publishers ready to take on challenges of the future

Our publishing partners are aware that digital is here to stay, but feel confident they can stay on top of evolving consumer demands

Key points:

  • All publishers mentioned the increase in their digital traffic during the pandemic, but for most this has now levelled out and stabilised
  • The continued digital focus is here to stay, publishers say and they are shaping their offering to meet this demand
  • The pandemic has changed the role of digital and the publishers expect that change to be irreversible

Two years ago, during the height of the pandemic, Fundamental Media spoke to 15 of our European publishing partners to find out how they were coping with the unprecedented changes. This year we reached out to the same publishers to see what lasting impacts the Covid crisis might have on the industry and how they see the future.

All publishers mentioned the increase in their digital traffic during the pandemic, but for most this has now levelled out and stabilised. Consumer demands keep evolving and all publishers are aware of the need for them to stay on top of these changing expectations.
